Happy 1 year Birthday in Christ!!!!/ The Best Easter Gift Ever

This week I celebrated my 1 year birthday in Christ!!! This is such a wonderful time and one I will never forget. This is one thing you should never forget. The time you gave your life over to christ. Whether you were 5 or 95. I am reposting this from last year. Also I am posting my video testimony. Have a great day!!

From the very beginning of my life I was fortunate to grow up in a loving Christian home with the most wonderful Christian parents. My mom and dad have instilled many great Christian values and principles in my life. A few things I have learned from them are what a marriage should be, what family should be, and what a relationship with Christ is. My parents always took me to church were I was always very involved. I have always know what to say, what to do, bible stories, devotions etc. however I never really made those things a priority in my life nor had a true relationship with Christ. I thought that at the age of 8 I had made a commitment to Christ to live for him and for him to dwell in me. However in the past 5 or 6 years I have been doing a lot of searching because I had began to question my relationship with him and many decisions I had made in my own life. Now please understand that in no way am I saying that children can not come to know the Lord and have a personal relationship with him. I know they can and have seen this very evident in many of the children in our church. I have also watched some of those children grow up in wonderful young Christian adults and are doing great things. I also know this to be true in my own daughter’s life. With that said in my own life I did not feel that there was a commitment truly made. I felt that I did not have a personal relationship with Christ, I was not growing spiritually and many aspects of my life were not growing. I did not seek him daily and did not always have a desire to know him and drawer closer. On April 4, 2010 changed everything!!!

As many of you know I am the preschool director at the church so my job is not only during the week but Sundays too. I came to work that morning having no intention on going to service because it is my job to be in the nursery looking after children, making sure all runs smoothly, and help all the volunteers so I do not attend Sunday worship very often. Our church had two service times and because of the wonderful ladies in nursery I was able to attend the second service with my family not knowing what was in store for me. I was just excited I was in service with my whole family. Every time I have been in service over the years I felt something in my heart but not really knowing what. This time would be different. We had a speaker by the name of Bro. Jr Hill. He has been to our church a few times but I never had heard him speak due to being in the nursery. He began to preach on salvation and that you are never too old, too young, or middle aged to have a relationship with Christ. It is a free gift and all you have to do is take it. What really got to me was when he began to talk about his daughter and at the age of 18 she felt that she was not saved however was scared to go in front of the church because she was the pastor's child and what would people say about her, what would they say about her dad. Pastor Hill told her it does not matter what they say or think what matters is your relationship with Christ and is he living in you and have you accepted him as Lord and Savior in your life. At that moment I knew that I had to make my relationship with Christ right and invite him in to dwell in my heart and begin to live for him. I had to push away my pride of being a staff member, and a long time church member and go forward. This is one of the hardest things I have ever done in front of so many that I knew. As the invitation began my wonderful husband saw that I needed to go forward. He gently took my hand and we walked from the balcony to the front. I then kneeled with the pastor and made my commitment to Christ!!!! I will forever be changed!!!!

I am so excited for the future and what the Lord has in store for me. I ask you that if you do not truly know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and if he does not dwell in you to talk with someone and make it right. I ask that if you can not answer the question “If you were to die tonight would you spend eternity with him?" Please go talk with a Pastor. I now know that that he lives in me!!! Thank you Lord for loving me so much to send your son to die for my sins and save me!!!
